The Gardens’ Library is located on the first floor of the Botany Building at the ANBG, Clunies Ross Street, Black Mountain.
Opening hours are 9.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. Members of the public may use the library by appointment.

The bulletin contains a list of new material recently received in the library. These items together with recent issues of journals and magazines are on display in the ANBG Library for approximately three to four weeks. All registered library clients are welcome to use the library and photocopy display items or reserve items for loan.

Investigates the tendency for species to retain their ancestral ecology . Most southern hemisphere plants, except for weeds, will not be able to adapt to rapid climate change, this study of 11,000 species suggests.

Victoria has lost 12% of it’s trees during the drought, with up to 50% under threat if it continues. Dr Greg Moore from University of Melbourne Burnley College is concerned the economic, health and environmental values of trees are seriously underestimated. A study of trees in South Australia showed they had a value of $200 each in shade and carbon sequestration.
