Pod bilocular

The pod walls commonly enclose a single cell (locule), but occasionally two cells are present, separated by a longitudinal wall (i.e. running from the base to tip of the pod). Some Swainsona species have a strongly indented upper suture, and appear to be bilocular. This character is best assessed by viewing a transverse section of the pod.
