    Morley, Brian Derek   (1943 - )Born in Coventry, UK, 16 June 1943; 
    Attended Stoke Primary School in Coventry.
    Secondary education at Caludon Castle Boys School, Coventry.
    
    
    Brian read Botany at
    University College North Wales, Ban-
    gor, and studied for his Ph.D. at the
    University of the West Indies and the
    Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. In 1969-75 he was Taxonomist to the National
    Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin, Dublin. 
    In 1975 he commenced employment in
    the Adelaide Botanic Gardens where he became Director of the Gardens and State Herbarium on 25 December, 1980. 
    He was a Fellow of
    the Linnean Society of London and
    President of the Australian Flora Foundation. He was elected President of the International Association of Botanic Gardens in 1983. 
    He is author of Wild Flowers of
    the World (1970) and contributor to
    Flowering Plants of the World (1978)
    and Irish Gardening and Horticulture
    (1979) as well as to numerous professional publications.
    He does not appear to have done any significant herbarium collecting in Australia.
