Filson, Rex Bertram  (1930 - )
  Born Sydney, NSW, 16 March 1930, 
  Rex Bertram Filson worked for the Department of Crown Lands and Survey,   Victoria 1965-88, as a seeds collector, lichenologist and finally as a   senior botanist. He was originally a carpenter by trade and went to   Antarctica as a carpenter 1961-63.

- 1965 - 1966 Career position - Lichenologist with the Department of Crown Lands and Survey
- 1965 - 1966 Career position - Seeds collector for the Department of Crown Lands and Survey, Victoria
- 1971 Award - Churchill Fellowship received
- 1979 Education - Master of Science (MSc) completed at Monash University in Victoria
- 1979 - 1988 Career position - Senior Botanist with the Department of Crown Lands and Survey
